Connectivity Requirements - The Aero Ranger vehicle system needs an active internet connection to upload data to the Dashboard and integrate with ADR for infringement processing.

Quick Start Guide

Step 1 - Turn on the vehicle.

Step 2 - Confirm iPad connection to the EdgeAI module. The iPad should show Wi-Fi connected, or if using a wired connection, it should be charging. Check the underside of the EdgeAI box for Wi-Fi credentials.

Troubleshooting: If the iPad doesn’t connect, ensure the blue light on the EdgeAI is on (power active) and wait at least 3 minutes after starting the vehicle for boot up time.

Step 3 - Open the Aero Companion app and go to the Status page. Check for LTE (internet) connection strength and ensure the GPS signal is “Good”, “Better”, or “Best”. Press “view” to verify the GPS location.

Step 4 - Check camera snapshots by pressing “view camera snapshots.” Ensure both cameras display clear images, are clean, and properly aligned. Confirm no tampering has occurred.

Operations Guide

The Aero Ranger system needs an iOS device running the Aero Companion app for full functionality. Continuous operation isn’t possible without it.

  • Ensure the iPad is connected (Wi-Fi or hardwired) and the Aero Companion app is active. Monitor reads throughout the journey.

  • Only use the pause function when the system is not in use.

  • When safe, compare real-life plates with those displayed on the iPad for accuracy.

Troubleshooting Guide

The Aero Ranger system is monitored remotely over the internet, allowing our support team to track box restarts, power supply changes, queue sizes, LTE connectivity, and other usage metrics. We have full visibility into the system’s activity, so information accuracy is important when reporting issues.

Please note that the blue button on the EdgeAI box restarts the operating software only, it does not restart the internet connection, this button should be used only as directed by Aero Ranger support team.

Pending uploads – If the queue exceeds 100 plates, there may be an internet issue.

Check the Status page to ensure you have an LTE connection (low, moderate, or high).

Stronger signals (high) mean faster uploads. If you’re in a low-signal area, try moving to an area with better connectivity.

App Stability – The Aero Companion app is stable and regularly tested. Any crashes or disconnections are unusual and should be reported.

  • App crash definition: The app freezes or shuts down, needing a restart. Report crashes to Aero Ranger with the time, date, and, if possible, video or photo evidence.

  • App disconnect definition: The app fails to connect to the box. Report disconnects with the time, date, and relevant details or evidence.
