See insights into how your Zones are utilised.

As you collect vehicle data, the Aero Ranger platform automatically performs calculations in the background to generate analytics reports and other information.

One of these calculations is Zone Utilisation, which allows you to see at-a-glance information on how popular your Zones are, and whether they are being over or under-utilised by comparing the capacity of the zone against the number of vehicles detected in that zone each hour.

Zone Utilisation data is calculated each hour based on data captured in the previous hour - the more data you collect in each zone, the more accurate the estimate will be.

To capture data used in Zone Utilisation calculations, perform one or more 'surveys' of a specific Zone by quickly capturing vehicle data throughout the entire zone for no longer than 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, all of the data captured within that time is considered a single survey. You can perform multiple surveys per zone to increase the accuracy of the results (in case you missed any parked vehicles).

To start an additional survey directly after the initial survey, wait 5 minutes from capturing the last vehicle read in that zone and a new survey will be initiated once you start capturing vehicle data again.

You can view Zone Utilisation data by heading to the Plate Search page and performing a search with the time period set to the period you're interested in. The longer the time period, the more accurate the utilisation estimate will potentially be.

If you're performing a specific time period search, ensure all of your survey data is included in your search period by adding 5-10 minutes buffer on either side of your From Date and To Date relative to the actual time period you performed your surveying.

In this example, we set the Time Period to the last 30 days:

The map will populate with vehicle pins for the time period.

In the top left corner of the map, select the Zones Utilisation button to toggle on the Zone Utilisation display.

See average Zone Utilisation data as a percentage overlay on each Zone, or click to select a specific Zone and see more fine-grained utilisation information over time.

If Zone Utilisation data is not displayed for any of your zones, please check that your Zone Capacity is set correctly, and double check your search filters to ensure there is enough data in the last 2 hours captured within the zone. After performing an initial first pass through a zone, you may have to wait up to 2 hours before Zone Utilisation data is visible.
