How to integrate your existing AXIS camera with Aero Ranger
Create device credentials
Before integrating your device, login to the Aero Ranger Dashboard to create your device credentials. Login with an Administrator account and select the Devices page under the Accounts tab in the left hand menu.
On the Devices page, select the Add 3rd-Party Device button
On the Add 3rd-Party Device page, note down the Username and Password that are generated.
Ensure you save the Password in a secure place, as you will not able to view the password again after the device is created.
If you forget your device password, please email us at [email protected]. Set a Description for the device which will be used to identify the camera in other areas of the Aero Ranger Dashboard such as the Plate Search page.
Enter a GPS location for your device which represents the physical location that your camera is installed (i.e. Latitude: 34.1747111, Longitude: 115.0438462).
Once you've finished entering the device details, click the Create button to create your credentials.
With your device credentials added to the Aero Ranger system, you can now enter the relevant details into your device by following the instructions below.
AXIS
Aero Ranger currently supports integration with AXIS ANPR cameras via HTTP POST. The below instructions assume your AXIS ANPR camera is set up and connected to the Internet. AXIS License Plate Verifier must be up and running on the camera.
Open a browser and enter the IP address or host name of the Axis device.
If you do not know the IP address, use AXIS IP Utility or AXIS Device Manager to find the device on the network. If you are unsure of how to use the AXIS IP Utility or AXIS Device Manager, contact AXIS for more information.
Once logged in, in the menu select Integration > Push Events.
In the Protocol drop-down list select HTTP POST.
In the Server URL field, type https://dashboard.api-aeroranger.com/public/v1/upload-axis/[USERNAME]/[PASSWORD] (Where [USERNAME] and [PASSWORD] are replaced with the Username and Password you created earlier on the Aero Ranger Dashboard 'Add 3rd Party Device' page.)
In the Latitude and Longitude fields, enter the GPS latitude and longitude of your device that you also entered in the Add 3rd-Party Device page earlier.
In the Device ID field, enter the Description you entered in the Add 3rd-Party Device page earlier.
In the User and Password fields, enter the device credentials you created earlier in the Add 3rd-Party Device page (username = user).
Under Event Types, ensure all checkboxes are selected (unless you want to ignore certain ANPR data events from your AXIS camera). Ensure that the Send event data to server checkbox is selected. Ensure the Do not send images through HTTP POST checkbox is not selected. Save your device configuration, and your AXIS ANPR data will now be forwarded to the Aero Ranger Dashboard.
